Peonies, Marble, Copper, Gold, & Donuts

We are planting 100 more peonies this week. All Festiva Maxima, white with beautiful red centers. There is patience required in growing peonies. I suppose there is some degree of patience required in growing anything. July, the height of peony season where we live in Alaska is good month to be a bride. Kathleen & Travis were married at the height of the season in late July. There were geometric shapes, flowers on marble, flowers in marble vases, flowers on copper stands, a geode cake, and a donut wall. Blomma Designs created the most tasty and beautiful wall of donuts for guests. I admit to taking one to my room that night to partake in the next morning. The donut was good, but the left over flowers were even better. I carted home the leftovers from installation pieces and made myself a piece for our table. Peonies are my favorite right as they start to loose there petals- when there is one or two petals on the table and more to come.
