Naked Toes & Taupe Roses
My love read me a poem yesterday. As I listened my mind wandered a couple times from the words trying to guess where the location was that was being described. A funny poem, a heart warming poem, a simple yet complex poem. When I asked what are you reading from the response made me appreciate the poem even more. The Hardware Store Herald of the Wrangell Mountain Center. I knew the poem had to be describing a small town in Alaska. The last line ” Now there were only a few people eating ice cream”
Thinking of my naked toes in July and days and nights filled with harvesting flowers, processing flowers, arranging flowers, delivering flowers, installing flowers, packing up flowers, living flowers… Sitting on the couch now watching the fire dying down in the wood stove making plans to go to the woodshed. Seasons have a way of warping distance. No naked toes outside today.
Lindsay and Tony were married on a stunning Alaskan Summer day this last July at Majestic Valley Lodge.
